"Master of Confusion" & "Empire of the Undead" are the first two new studio songs by the German metal band after their successful "To the Metal!" which brought them worldwide attention. The 2 new tracks are accompanied by covers and live tracks, 60 minutes of pure & raw Gamma Ray!/5(50).

May 04,  · I've given Master of Confusion four stars because I do like the songs. Empire of the Undead is fast and in-your-face if a bit generic sounding. Master of Confusion slows the pace down a bit but still rips right along. The Sweet cover, Lost Angels, and the live versions of "The Spirit", Wings of Destiny," and "Gamma Ray" being the other reasons /5(51).

You would never know that this album was a compilation as each song flows into one another like they were from the same sessions. In some cases it sounds like some songs got a new mix just for vinyl. If you're a Gamma Ray fan or a power metal fan who love their music on vinyl then this is a must have. I couldn't love this album more if I tried. \m//5(21).

"Empire of the Undead" and "Master of Confusion" canter along at a cracking pace, showcasing the best of what makes Gamma Ray so great. "Master of Confusion" tends to tell the story of how this EP came into being, regarding the label waiting for the new album to be delivered, but it doesn't come. Great stuff, fun songs, and brilliantly performed.

But that was the only instance. "Master of Confusion," a track which I usually find boring, fits in very well among "Blood Religion" and "Lust for Life," and the ever-present "Send Me a Sign" right after the epic "Insurrection" makes for a great send-off. If you like Gamma Ray, you will love this album. It really is a "Best /5(51).

The loyalty of Gamma Ray and Kai Hansen worldwide is unique. Two EPs ("Skeletons And Majesties" and "Master Of Confusion") and a live CD/DVD ("Skeletons And Majesties LIVE") only made the demand for new material louder.
